Colossians 4:6
"Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone."
The challenge:
Be kind.
Criticize less.
Choose sweeter words.
Think before you speak.
I know I'm not the only one who has trouble sometimes with thinking before I speak, and with being kind.
I know I'm not the only one who struggles in saying kind things in the mornings, afternoons and evenings.
I know I'm not the only one who struggles to say the right things when people need it.
It's hard, especially when I'm tired... Anyone else?
It's especially hard in the mornings mostly for me to be kind, because people press my buttons more at that time than any other time of the day it seems. I just want peace and quiet in the mornings. Let me wake up fully, ya know?
And when my parents read this I'm sure they'll say, "Mhm, yeah, she sure does need to work on that."
I know, okay? But I'm not alone am I? There are plenty of people struggling with me.
So how about we all go to the Lord in prayer tonight and ask that tomorrow we accept this challenge and give it our best shot to be kind tomorrow. Say at least one kind thing to someone tomorrow.
I DARE YOU!
